HAVE YOU EVER BEEN ASKED TO PLAY FOR FREE?
It’s time for action!
How many times have you been put into a position to have to say this to a prospective booker, or event coordinator?
“NO, we won’t play for exposure!”
The GPAS (General performance availability statement) Is a PROACTIVE way, to engage potential bookers, concert promoters, club owners, and anyone else wishing to book your act or performance, on YOUR terms.
This idea was concieved during a round table discussion with several bay Area musicians and artists.
The being asked to play for “Exposure” or for free, has been a rampant misunderstanding in the industry for years.
It is my belief, that this statament, (GPAS) included in promotional materials, added to websites, and being shared among the community, will not only stop these insulting requests, but also set the tone, and send a clear message that we, artists, respect and value ourselves.
